Youth jumps into river from bridge, booked by police

The Kodagu district police booked a 24-year-old youth from Kunjilu village after a social media post showed him recklessly jumping into a stream of water in Kakkabe town.

According to thesuo motoFIR registered by the police, the youth Salman, 24, a resident of Kunjilu village in Napoklu police station limits, had endangered his life by recklessly jumping into the river from a bridge in Kakkabe town on July 19.

“The incident had been recorded on video and posted on social media, thus encouraging other members of the public to indulge in similar dangerous acts”, the FIR said.

The police have now booked him under Section 125 of the BNS for endangering life or personal safety.
