British surgeon, Dr. Nick Maynard, who recently returned from Gaza, has claimed that Israeli soldiers are shooting civilians at aid points, describing it as "almost like a game of target practice".
Dr. Maynard reported seeing a pattern of gunshot injuries, particularly among teenage boys, who were attempting to get food for their families from aid sites operated by the US and Israel-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF).
He described operating on boys as young as 11 who had been shot at these distribution points, with one 12-year-old dying on the operating table due to the severity of his injuries.
The surgeon further alleged a disturbing trend in the types of injuries observed, with different body parts being targeted on different days, including gunshot wounds to the head, neck, chest, abdomen, and testicles. He stated that these patterns were too obvious to be coincidental and suggested it was "almost like a game of target practice".
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have “categorically rejected” these claims, denying intentional harm to civilians.
According to the UN, over 1,300 Palestinians have been killed seeking food since May 27, 2025, when the GHF began distributing aid, with the majority killed near GHF sites. Human Rights Watch has criticized the GHF's militarized aid distribution system, calling it flawed and accusing Israeli forces of routinely opening fire on civilians seeking food, actions which they state constitute war crimes.
