A primary teacher in Uttar Pradesh's Bulandshahr has been suspended after a video showing her oiling her hair and playing Bollywood songs inside a government school classroom, while students quietly watched, went viral.
The video was recorded at Mundakheda Primary School in Khurja block. In the now-viral clip, the teacher can be seen sitting on a chair during class hours, massaging her head with hair oil while old Bollywood songs such asSawan Ki Ghata ChhaiandDeewana Hua Badalplayed on her phone.
The footage, reportedly filmed on the afternoon of July 19 during regular class time, showed students passively observing the teacher instead of engaging in any learning.
The video, which surfaced on social media platforms, sparked outrage over the state of government school education and teacher accountability, especially in Uttar Pradesh.
Reacting to the viral clip, the district’s Basic Education Officer, Laxmikant Pandey, confirmed that the teacher had been suspended with immediate effect. “An order has been issued, and the incident is under investigation,” he stated.
